Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services: Understanding Benefits and Medicaid Waiver

The Medicaid waivers are home and community-based offering supports and services to a Medicaid individual, both children and adults. The waiver services will differ based on individual need and program criteria met. Virginia Medicaid administers Developmental Disability Waivers jointly with the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services. There is a waiting list for these waivers, and the slots are assigned based on urgency of need.

Vocational Rehabilitation Technical Assistance Center for Quality Management (VRTAC-QM)

Partnering with State Vocational Rehabilitation Agencies (SVRAs) to enhance service delivery and maximize outcomes through quality program and resource management. The VRTAC-QM strives to increase the knowledge, skills, and abilities of State VR Agencies (SVRA) through quality management technical assistance in VR program and performance focus areas, through technical assistance in quality VR fiscal and resource practices, resources to assist you in your overall supervision and management practices, and three special projects of which two are aimed at increasing the financial resources available to State Vocational Rehabilitation Agencies (SVRAs) to manage their program and provide services, and one is designed to enhance the collaboration and partnership between VR and other agencies whose goal is to promote competitive integrated employment outcomes for individuals with disabilities.
