About Tammi:

Tammi Williams, Ph.D. (she/her) is a Senior Technical Assistance and Research Analyst with George Washington University's Center for Rehabilitation Counseling Research and Education (GW CRCRE), where she supports multiple funded projects including the PATH grant, the Vocational Rehabilitation Technical Assistance Center (VRTAC), and the Center for Innovative Training in Vocational Rehabilitation (CIT-VR). Her contributions include developing training for community rehabilitation program (CRP) staff, supporting the design of mentoring programs for VR professionals, and co-facilitating the national community of practice for VR training managers.

Tammi brings nearly 20 years of experience in vocational rehabilitation and related fields, including direct service, site management, and bureau-wide staff development leadership. She served as Consultant Manager of the Staff Development Unit at Michigan Rehabilitation Services. In that role, she implemented and administered a statewide learning management system, redesigned onboarding programs for counselors, rehabilitation assistants, and Pre-ETS staff, and led a bureau-wide initiative on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accommodation. Prior to her leadership role, she served as a Site Manager overseeing four field offices and, earlier, as a Rehabilitation Counselor providing direct services to individuals with disabilities.

Tammi's research expertise centers on the intersection of distance learning and rehabilitation counselor education. Her dissertation, Distance Learning in Vocational Rehabilitation: Recommendations and Cautions from the Front Line, examined pedagogical practices in master's-level VR programs. She is a certified practitioner of the Deming model of Quality Management and applies process improvement principles to the design of training systems that produce measurable outcomes. She has also served as a peer reviewer for the U.S. Department of Education's Rehabilitation Services Administration, evaluating Disability Innovation Fund grant applications for program quality, compliance, and replicability.

In her concurrent role as Business Development Manager at YesLMS, Tammi supports more than 40 state vocational rehabilitation agencies in integrating the fully accessible, ADA/Section 508-compliant learning platform into their training ecosystems. She consults with agencies on curriculum development, onboarding design, and role-based learning pathways grounded in adult learning theory and Bloom's Taxonomy.

Tammi holds a Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Counselor Education from Michigan State University and a Master's degree in Community Counseling from Andrews University.
