In this training, Dr. Ryan Watkins, an author and expert in educational technology, will provide an in-depth overview of AI and its applications in education. Some of the learning objectives include gaining a deeper understanding of how AI technologies work, knowing when AI is appropriate and useful, and understanding the ethical and technical challenges related to AI, such as bias in AI models. Additionally, the training will cover practical applications of AI in education and how to best leverage AI tools to enhance learning outcomes.

Dr. Ryan Watkins is a Professor at The George Washington University, and the program director of the Educational Technology Leadership (MA) program, and faculty lead of the interdisciplinary Human-Technology Collaboration (PhD) concentration (research lab). Dr. Watkins has authored 12 books and over 100 articles/chapters, and is the developer of several web platforms (including Code2Learn, We Share Science, SciencePods). As an interdisciplinary researcher he explored how we create, train, interact with, and collaborate with increasing intelligent technologies in both the classroom and workplace; in addition to also studying needs and needs assessments.
