GWU Spotlights CRCRE

GWU’s Center for Rehabilitation Counseling Research and Education (CRCRE) is in the spotlight for receiving $11.3 million in grants from the Department of Education for programs geared toward research and training in vocational rehabilitation for persons with disabilities.

“Our focus is on making sure those staffers working with people with disabilities are as prepared as they can be to provide the best services and counseling to people with disabilities,” CRCRE Co-Director Dr. McGuire-Kuletz said.

This award comes at a crucial time as the COVID-19 pandemic risks the decades-long job gains that Americans with disabilities have earned. Since March, 1 out of 5 U.S. workers with a disability have lost employment compared to 1 out of 7 without a disability.
