About Casey:

Casey has more than 27 years of experience in vocational rehabilitation, disability services, and workforce development. A Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, she has provided direct vocational rehabilitation services, developed and delivered statewide training, and directed large programs. As Director of the New Mexico Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, Casey oversaw federal grants, guided the agency through compliance reviews and corrective action plans, and led the agency until her retirement in December 2024. She also served with the New Mexico Department of Health as Community Inclusion Manager and Supported Employment Lead, overseeing statewide day and employment services for individuals receiving waiver funding.

In addition, Casey worked in human resources, where she advised on ADA accommodations, FMLA, and designed onboarding and performance review processes to strengthen workforce systems. Earlier in her career, she advanced through a variety of roles at the NM Division of Vocational Rehabilitation—including Student Aid, Administrative Assistant, Training Specialist, VR Technician, and VR Counselor—gaining broad expertise in service delivery and administration. Today, Casey applies her extensive experience to provide technical assistance and training to other vocational rehabilitation programs. She holds a master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and a bachelor’s in social work from New Mexico Highlands University.
